I am a Ph.D. student in Economics at North Carolina State University and a CEnREP affiliate conducting research on the valuation and allocation of ecosystem services.

My job market paper, Asymmetric Information and Costly Participation in Voluntary Conservation Markets, shows that nature-based offset markets can reduce social welfare when landowners hold private information about their land and face costly participation, because the landowners most eager to join are those who generate the least social value. In related work, I estimate the transaction costs that keep California firms from using cheaper carbon offsets. I also study how climate change-induced fish migration may affect demand for recreational fishing.
